Tis the Season to Celebrate at Sullivan’s Steakhouse!

Tis the Season to Celebrate at Sullivan’s Steakhouse!

It’s that time of year! I was born for this season. No, really, even as a kid I begged my mother to play Christmas music in May. I’m so excited to bring you my “12 days Until Christmas!” Giveaway! First up – a chance to win a $100 gift card to Sullivan’s Steakhouse!

Sullivan’s Steakhouse

I accepted an invitation to the Circle City Supper Club’s Christmas Party at Sullivan’s Steakhouse last week. I had no idea what an amazing food coma awaited me that evening. As someone who lives downtown with 15 steakhouses a stone’s throw away, I don’t always make it up to the north side. After my fantastic dinner, Sullivan’s has earned a spot on my top steak house list for sure.

The Space

I was very impressed at the size of Sullivan’s. They have four different rooms – the front wine room, middle wine room, back wine room, and fireside room. Collectively, Sullivan’s seats 163. We had the pleasure of dining in the back wine room. The place was hopping, especially for a Tuesday night! I was very impressed.

Appetizers from Sullivan’s

We were treated like royalty. We started out trying every appetizer on the menu.

I enjoyed the fresh seared rare Ahi tuna with pickled ginger and a spicy mustard sauce. It was similar to a sushi roll, but more refreshing. The table favorite had to be the Philly cheese steak egg rolls. I don’t eat red meat, but it was very tempting!

Soups and Salads

Usually I forgo a soup or salad prior to a meal. However, we came to eat. I went with the shrimp and lobster bisque which was cooked to perfection. I was worried that it would be too rich for my liking, but it was very light and hit the spot. Taylor from Supper In the City ordered this delicious looking french onion soup. I mean, come on. Crusted with cheese, golden at the edges.

The thing with “media” or “influencer” dinners is that you go into them never knowing what to expect. I feel lucky to attend any of them! Sometimes the chef will put together some small plates for us to try a little of everything, sometimes we order off the menu, it can really go a multitude of different ways. Sullivan’s pulled out the red carpet for the Circle City Supper Club and allowed us to order anything we wanted as our entrĂ©e. From a photographer perspective, I was THRILLED! So many items to shoot! From a hungry Kate perspective – even more thrilled! Most of my readers know that I do not eat meat or pork. I haven’t in 17 years, and no, I’m not interested in going back. Luckily, I love seafood. I decided to split the Broiled Salmon Rockefeller (sans bacon) and the king crab legs with Taylor. I was in king crab leg heaven. Also – they were priced at $40 which I feel is very appropriate for 1lb of king crab legs.

We had the pleasure of being able to try all of the sides. I will say, I felt like bacon was in everything. The potatoes, the Brussels sprouts, and maybe the mac and cheese? Bacon is delicious but doesn’t need to be in every dish. We loved the whole roasted cauliflower with the caper lemon vinaigrette drizzle.!

Most Importantly, Dessert.

As the queen of the sweet tooth club, I always, always save room for dessert. The chocolate meltdown as a crowd favorite. It’s an entire production! When the hot chocolate sauce is poured over the ganache dome, it reveals a flourless chocolate torte with chocolate moose and fresh raspberries. If you are a chocoholic – you must order this! I enjoyed the bananas foster bread pudding. The banana taste was just the right amount of flavor. Everything melted together for a wonderful sweet treat

I cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful service we received from the entire staff. We were greeted promptly and our coats whisked away to the coat check. We had two servers for our group and they both handled our table to absolutely perfection. My glass was never empty and plates always removed with ease.  5 star service from the Sullivan’s Steakhouse Staff.

To Sullivan’s Steakhouse – Thank you so much for having our group. We could not have asked for a better Christmas dinner. Everything was wonderful and I cannot wait to visit again.

To Circle City Supper Club – Thank you ALL for including me! It was an honor to be invited and get to share an incredible meal with many influencers that I truly admire. Thanks for being so awesome.
