I’ve decided on my two favorite types of glasses: champagne glasses and the new Ultra Limited glasses. No better way to kick off a weekend than to celebrate the launch of the Ultra Limited Glasses Line at Dr. Tavel in Greenwood!
I was beyond thrilled when the Dr. Tavel team reached out to me about checking out the new Ultra limited line. Dr. Tavel is a family-owned business with over 21 locations in the state of Indiana. The first location was opened in 1940 and was located downtown Indianapolis at the Claypool hotel. Ya’ll know I’m a big history buff, so I’m snagging this photo from their website to share:
Isn’t that fun? They offer more choices for medicaid users than any other provider. They carry lines from coach, ray ban, calvin klein, tots eye wear, and many more. When it comes to an eye care provider, Dr. Tavel is the office I trust.
The Ultra limited glasses are something special. Every single frame is one of a kind. I love that they are all different. You won’t meet a single person with the same pair of Ulta Limited glasses. Each frame takes 41 days to make. That’s right, over a month!
The material is cellulose. The cellulose is cut into sheets to be glued together. The colors are hand selected and change color schemes every six months. After the material is cut, it is pressure aged for 12 days. After that, the glasses undergo temperature and more pressure changes for an additional 14 days. I tried to research the average amount of time that it takes to produce glasses frames, and I was not able to find anything. Any optometrists reading and can help a girl out? I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that it’s much less than 41 days. To top it off, the frames are handmade in Italy.
The Dr. Tavel at the Greenwood Park Mall hosted a fantastic launch party. They have a fantastic collection of many different offerings in colors, frame shapes and size from Ultra Limited.
I immediately fell in love with their sunglasses line. The bigger the frame, the better. Hide my entire face and call me Jackie O already!!
I’m typically drawn to blue/purple colors when it comes to my clothing and accessories. See that pair fifth from the top left side? MINE. Knowing that the frames are one of a kind made it easier for me to choose, knowing that someone else could come in and swoop up my new child!
I’m not someone who gets excited about glasses very easily, but I was completely captivated with these! Maddie and the Dr. Tavel team provided a wonderful spread of hors d’oeuvres, bubbly, music, and a great backdrop to show off all of our new shades. It was exhilarating sharing our excitement with each other over these eye-popping frames. “Which do you like more?” “Oh, those totally compliment your hair color!” were just a few topics of conversation. I think I’d enjoy shopping a lot more if every time I went, it was a party!
In the end, I had to go with the sunglasses I fell in love with when I first laid eyes on them. I’m sure these will be quite the conversation starter everywhere I go.
Special thank you to Dr. Tavel and team for inviting us as influencers to the launch party. We had a ball!!
