Devour Indy.. I remember when it was called Devour Downtown! Where can you go which is actually a deal? Let’s take a look at the Winter 2018 menu..
Devour Indy.. Devour Downtown.. whatever you want to call it. I loved the idea behind Devour when it first came to town a few years ago. It is the Indianapolis version of “Restaurant Week.” It was a way to drive business during slower times of the year. One of my best performing posts last year was a recap of the 2017 Devour options – “Is Devour Worth it?”
I’ll outline some of my recommended restaurants that, on average, provide a savings of greater than $5 of more.
One Appetizer to share, Two Burgers – $30.
I recommend the blistered shishito peppers as an appetizer and the Stanford burger. Burger Study is a burger restaurant created by the owners of St. Elmo and Harry and Izzy’s.
This is a no-brainer. St. Elmo’s typically fills up quickly so be sure to make a reservation. Also, it’s the perfect excuse to try their world famous shrimp cocktail. They have a mouth-watering CRÈME BRÛLÉE that is worth devouring as well. I love bringing out of town guests to St. Elmo’s to introduce them to the best steak house Indy has to offer.
3 Courses – $30
I recommend the lobster ravioli and the italian wedding soup. Check out my visit to Iozzo’s from the fall for more menu inspiration. Iozzo’s is known as one of Indianapolis’s oldest restaurants! Be sure to ask your server about the history.. it’s a good one!
Includes a starter, entrée, dessert and a glass of Chardonnay or Cabernet Sauvignon -$30
This is one of the best deals downtown! The glass of wine really adds value to the deal.
Most importantly, my favorite orange ricotta donuts are one of the dessert options. They come with a side of strawberry and Nutella dipping sauces. I’ve also enjoyed the rotisserie chicken.
$40 a person
Vida is my favorite restaurant downtown. They are a bit on the pricier side, but I promise that you will not be disappointed. Make a reservation for this one and make it a date night! Check out their cool hydroponic wall. They gather all their fresh herbs from there.
Where’s your favorite place to dine for devour? I’m usually all about a deal. I found myself last year at Bazbeaux’s which offered a salad, pizza, and dessert. I ordered their house salad with their basil dressing. The salad was the best decision I ever made… now I can’t eat there without ordering it! Devour is a way to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. Let’s hear what you’re ordering!
